Sumitra Srinivasan
I am the founder and director at Shubham Events Planners.
I put together my first event when I was around 18. I would say it was an organized chaos. I actively participate in most of the community events at every given opportunity.
It all began in 2017 when I wanted to start my wedding planner business specializing in destination weddings. And I had to put together a plan in place as event planning takes up a lot of your time.
I purely started this business for my love of events and the excitement of trying to bring something new every time I have had the opportunity to organize an event.
I started to do my research and realised that there was not a single event planner who could cater to specifics to the Indian community, especially Indian weddings. The beauty of an Indian wedding lies in the complexities of ceremonies and the slight cultural variations that each one might demand.
To understand the legalities of setting up the business, I chose to do a training through one of the leading providers in the wedding industry, The Wedding Academy.
The course has helped me gain a lot of knowledge as well as given me the confidence to handle unprecedented situations. With all these skills and a flair for event management, I am taking this leap with utmost poise and aim to achieve success.
The experience of working in a customer-facing industry has given me the unparalleled advantage to manage customer expectations and the confidence to perform and deliver any task under tremendous pressure.
Along with being a wedding planner, I am also a certified coach. When I am not planning weddings or coaching, you will most probably see me browsing for my next holiday destination or what I can have next in my closet. I have a daughter and a puppy who brighten up the gloomiest of days. My husband is a software professional.
In order to execute my client’s dream event and make this job even more fun than it already is, I am constantly looking to hire talented people who will help with bringing more energy and creativity into the team.
Swetha Kamath
Hi everyone,
I am Swetha Kamath and I am the vendor manager at Shubham Event Planners.
Planning a wedding involves dealing with multiple vendors who provide various services like decorations, florists, caterers, photographers to name a few. It could be a challenge to find the right one as there are quite a few service providers in the market.
This is where I step in. I have spent a lot of time researching and putting together our preferred vendor list and we will recommend you to the vendors that match your requirements.
After you have selected your vendor, we will arrange for a meeting with the supplier where you can discuss the specifics, charges, etc. Once the service contract has been signed, I will then liaise with them for any further updates or additions that you may have.
With more than a decade’s experience of putting together community events and excellent negotiation skills, when I was offered this role, I accepted without much hesitation.
When I am not planning events, I like to spend time with my family. My husband is a doctor, specialist in respiratory problems. I have two sons, older one doing his law and the younger one in high school.
I am also a cricket enthusiast and a keen gardener.
